WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INVERSION AND EVERSION?
There are two types of movements that, if done to excess, can damage the ligaments in the ankle/foot:
- INVERSION, the movement that stretches the ligaments on the lateral side of the foot, occurs in over 98% of the cases. This is the cause of most sprained ankles.
- EVERSION, the movement that stretches the ligaments on the medial side of the foot, occurs very infrequently, and is usually associated with other complications affecting the foot/ankle.

WHAT IS THE SPRAIN-GUARD™? HOW DOES IT WORK?
The Sprain-Guard™ is an orthopedic brace that provides full–time, professional-grade ankle rollover control to limit inversion or eversion. Usable prophylactically by both athletes and by individuals with ankle instabilities, the Sprain-Guard™ also provides full, normal, ankle joint range of motion, without restrictions, and without causing discomfort.
The Sprain-Guard™ protects the ankle from over-inversion or over-eversion by keeping the shoe from rolling over excessively in one direction, or the other. It provides no support during normal activities within the normal range of motion of the ankle/foot. It only begins to take effect when the protected ankle begins to roll over excessively. The Sprain-Guard™ is lightweight and cool to wear, and is put on, adjusted and removed in seconds.
One Sprain-Guard™ treats one foot. The Sprain-Guard™ is sold singly. Individuals that need support for both feet should order two Sprain-Guards™.
The Sprain-Guard™ has been patented in the USA, Canada, the UK and Japan. The Sprain-Guard™ is made in the USA, and is currently shipped to the USA only.

I HAVE CHRONIC ANKLE INSTABILITY. WILL THE SPRAIN-GUARD™ HELP ME?
ABSOLUTELY!
The Sprain-Guard™ controls ankle rollovers for people suffering with lateral or medial ankle instability, no matter what the cause, and no matter what their previous experiences have been with ankle rollovers, and with other protective devices. The Sprain-Guard™ is also recommended to be used prophylactically for athletes facing higher-than-normal risk of rolling their ankles over.
The Sprain-Guard™ provides outstanding support while, at the same time, providing full ankle joint mobility, without causing any discomfort. Guaranteed!

DOES THE SPRAIN-GUARD™ HAVE TO BE ATTACHED TO MY SHOE?
YES!
The Sprain-Guard™ works with your shoe to help protect your ankle from ankle over-extensions.
While most ankle supports and braces attempt to stabilize the foot by putting something over the foot and/or into the shoe, the Sprain-Guard™, instead, stabilizes the SHOE. It protects you against ankle rollover injury by keeping your shoe from rolling over too far. If your shoe does not roll over excessively, your foot cannot roll over excessively!
In order to ensure that the Sprain-Guard™ functions consistently and safely, the Sprain-Guard’s™ straps must be securely attached to the shoe. Attachments of Sprain-Guards™ to shoes are only made by X-Strap® Systems, or by our trained representatives, using specialized equipment, once you have sent us your shoe.
That’s the only way it works in order to provide support you can count on, no matter what activities you are involved in, and no matter what condition your ankle is in.
If you’re serious about protecting your ankles against rollovers, this is the best way to do it.
Send us your shoe, your payment, and the Sprain-Guard™ Order Form.
We’ll take care of the rest. You won’t be disappointed!
