WHAT IS THE DYNAMIC-ARM-SLING™? WHO IS IT FOR?

CAN I APPLY AND REMOVE THE DYNAMIC-ARM-SLING™ USING ONLY ONE ARM?

Yes!

Once the length of the Dynamic-Arm-Sling™ has been set (this is done only once, at the beginning), the D-A-S™ can be applied properly, quickly and easily, using only the healthy arm.

Only the healthy arm is needed to apply or remove the D-A-S™, thereby saving the injured arm from any undue stress.

CAN I USE THE DYNAMIC-ARM-SLING™ IN WATER?

Absolutely!

The D-A-S™ is fully water-compatible, allowing it to be used in the shower, bath, swimming pool and hydrotherapy pool.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE DYNAMIC-ARM-SLING™ COMFORT PAD?

The Comfort Pad, (also called the Pad, for short), comes pre-installed on the D-A-S™.
It is used to provide a comfortable landing place, and additional cushioning, for the forearm as it rests on the D-A-S™.

The Pad is designed to easily slide along the D-A-S™ length in order to position it properly to accommodate different D-A-S™ loop size settings for different size individuals.

The Pad is removable from the D-A-S™, and like all D-A-S™ components, is washable.

CAN I USE THE DYNAMIC-ARM-SLING™ WITHOUT THE COMFORT PAD?

Yes.

Most D-A-S™ users are normally not involved in energetic activities, and appreciate the convenience of slipping in and out of the device quickly and easily. In these cases, the Action Band is not needed, and it can be dispensed with completely.

For more active users, and especially for children, the Action Band, which encircles both the D-A-S™ and the user’s forearm, keeps the arm comfortably in the selected position in the D-A-S™. Without the Action Band, it is possible that the arm of an overly-active user could shift position in the D-A-S™, as would likely happen with most arm slings under the same circumstances.
ACTION BAND ON-BOARD STORAGE
When not used to maintain the arm’s position in the D-A-S™, the Action Band can be attached lengthwise to a free section of the D-A-S™, using Velcro® connections. With the Action Band stored on-board, the D-A-S™ can be used normally.

DO I NEED A DYNAMIC-ARM-SLING™ EXTENSION STRAP?

Extra large individuals, for whom the standard full length of the D-A-S™ is too short to provide the prescribed support, can contact us at (914) 968-3381 to order an optional Extension Strap that will increase the D-A-S’s™ overall length by approximately 8 inches.

An Extension Strap, made of the same material as the D-A-S™, can be connected to the D-A-S™ to form a larger-than-normal loop.
Where necessary, more than one Extension Strap can be used, piggy-backed end-to-end, to form an even larger loop.
The Extension Strap is available at no cost, but a small Shipping and Handling charge applies.

WHAT ARE THE CARE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DYNAMIC-ARM-SLING™?

WASHING:
Hand wash the Dynamic-Arm-Sling™ fabric components periodically in order to maximize service life, and to retain the best appearance.

Squeeze fabric components in cold water with mild detergent, then rinse the detergent out thoroughly, and squeeze the component to remove most moisture. DO NOT WRING OUT.

FOLLOWING HAND WASHING, OR FOLLOWING USE IN WATER:
Squeeze the D-A-S™ components to remove excess moisture, press flat in a folded towel to remove additional moisture. Lay flat to air dry.

MAINTAINANCE
Although durable, D-A-S™ components will wear over time. Periodically (weekly), the components should be inspected to identify, and to make repairs, if needed.

To ensure optimal comfort and support, a worn D-A-S™ should be replaced with a new one.

CAN THE DYNAMIC-ARM-SLING™ HOLD OPTIONAL ITEMS FOR ME?

Yes.

The D-A-S™ is made with Velcro® on the side that is worn facing way from the body. This side of the D-A-S™ can hold various items.

D-A-S™ items include Action Bands and Extension Straps. Non-D-A-S™ items may include things such as sunglasses cases, cell phone pouches, etc., that have Velcro® hook surfaces.
