IDENTIFYING INVERSION and EVERSIONWhen ligaments are stretched beyond their normal limits, sprains, of various degrees result. Two types of sprains, known as INVERSION SPRAINS and EVERSION SPRAINS, affect ankle joints that are stretched excessively to the sides. See the images below that graphically demonstrate INVERSION and EVERSION. INVERSION SPRAINS occur in more than 90% of the cases. Inversion sprains occur when the foot rolls over so that the sole of the foot increasingly faces the opposing foot. The SPRAIN-GUARD is normally configured to limit inversion. EVERSION SPRAINS rarely occur. Eversion sprains occur when the foot rolls outwards, with the sole of the foot increasingly facing away from the other foot. By making special arrangements with us, we can configure the SPRAIN-GUARD to your shoe so that it limits eversion.
